UIDAI Earmarks Rs 200 Crore to Fund Aadhaar Enrolment Machines For Schools in Talukas
New Delhi: government corporation UIDAI will offer Rs two hundred crore help to states to fund enrolment machines in sub-districts (talukas) that can be used for Aadhaar enrolment and updation of faculty college students. The pass comes just days after the Aadhaar-issuing body informed schools now not to refuse admission to college students for lack of the 12-digit biometric identifier, even as setting the onus on the academic establishments to set up for enrolments and biometric update facility for such students.
The precise identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now determined to move a step further to allow such enrolment thru provision of Aadhaar machines and thus, it will facilitate the provision of machines according to taluka.
“it has been decided that UIDAI will offer fund for two Aadhaar enrolment machines to each taluka, so that you can work beneath the supervision of district management,” UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey instructed PTI.
The complete concept is that the machines can pass from faculty to highschool, for enrolment and updation activities, and is in tune with the UIDAI’s instructions that Aadhaar enrolment camp be organised in all the colleges at the least twice a 12 months by way of creating a school-sensible roster for the same.

Earlier this month, UIDAI had requested colleges not to refuse admission to college students for lack of Aadhaar and stated such denials are “invalid” and “no longer authorized beneath the regulation”.
